Latest Updates from Our Project:

Studio X update
over 3 years ago – Mon, Jan 18, 2021 at 12:48:38 AM

Wet palette with side latches.

Studio X update.

The rendering is of our wet palette with the upgraded latches. After trying multiple ways to ensure the palettes stay tight and closed during transport latches have been added. Having to use an elastic band to keep it closed just isn't our idea of good engineering. The design/mechanical engineering, and production costs are substantial but getting it right and releasing quality products have been our goal from the start. The picture does not show the rounded out ink/paint wells but they will be done.

We have had some issues with the wet palette paper. All of the samples we have received so far aren't up to par. It sounds simple (it's just paper) but this is the 1st time our manufacturer has worked on anything paint related. We have more samples on the way and will be testing them.

The sponge/foam pad sample was spot on except we are going with a thicker size from the sample sent.

The pro grade cutting mat sample was also fantastic and a solid go.

We hope the holidays were great for everyone and expect regular updates now that they are over.

Thank you.

Happy New Year
over 3 years ago – Sat, Jan 02, 2021 at 12:36:45 AM

Happy New Year to all our friends and fantastic backers. 2020 was an interesting year at best and hopefully this year we see the return of conventions and events. We see everyone's models online and know your painting your butt's off. So during the holiday's we put together a plan for a painting competition along with some fantastic sponsors. The details are being worked on now and we will announce everything soon.

Over the last 2 weeks since announcing we were closing the pre order store, pledges and retail inquires have been coming in steadily. We've received quite a few emails and messages asking to extend the date so we will keep the pre-order store open till the end of January. Also we still have 12 backers who are not answering our messages and have pledged but not finished the survey or paid for shipping so it will give them a bit more time.

We will have more Studio X updates in 2 or 3 weeks when things get back to normal from the holidays.

Thanks

Tutorial on painting black armor from our friends at Chestnut Ink.
over 3 years ago – Mon, Dec 28, 2020 at 07:05:06 PM

We have another great tutorial for everyone. This one is from our friends at Chestnut Ink. They are all fantastic painters and have the awards to show for their talent. Black armor will be covered in this PDF by Johann Puech. He's done a wonderful job of breaking it down step by step.

We are working on the reschedule for the livestream and will let everyone know asap.

Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and received lots of painting gear and mini's!

Delay for the Alfonso livestream
over 3 years ago – Wed, Dec 16, 2020 at 03:34:07 PM

We unfortunately had to delay the Alfonso livestream. The model he was going to work on during the livestream did not arrive in time. The post/mail is a mess at the moment between covid and the holidays.

We will let everyone know asap on a reschedule for the event.

We will be closing the backerkit pre-order store and locking all orders January 1st. You will still be able to adjust your address. If you are not sure about your pledge/survey please contact us. We still have 16 backers who have pledged in kickstarter and haven't filled out the survey, paid for shipping or given us a shipping address. Emails and reminders have been sent every 2 or 3 days for the last 4 months. Once the orders are locked additional shipping and processing fees will be applied to your order if you have not completed it before January 1st.

The holidays are upon us and we hope everyone is doing well. We will have more updates mid January when business returns to normal. Stay safe and happy painting.

Color Wheel and Alfonso Giraldes livestream
over 3 years ago – Wed, Dec 09, 2020 at 12:48:36 AM

The color wheel samples are on the way to us. We should have them in a week or two depending on the slow holiday mail. They look great but want to have them in-hand  before we give the go ahead to print them all.

We have the five hour Alfonso Giraldes live-stream planned for Sunday December 13th. Red Hood was sent to him over a week ago to paint during the live-stream and still has not arrived. If he gets it in the next day or two he will have time to prep her for the event. We will update everyone with details and a time asap.

The new Studio X prototype led light is in. Definitely a great upgrade as its 2 times brighter and uses directional diodes to keep the light in your painting area. Perfect for taking photos of your miniatures to post. It fits quite well in the lid of the travel bag with plenty of room for more of your gear.

We will have another update mid January as the holidays are upon us and shipping gets a bit sketchy over the next 3 to 4 weeks.

Don't forget to sign up at our You Tube channel to watch Alfonso's livestream and get updates on new content.

We hope everyone is staying safe and has some quality painting time over the holidays.

Thank you.
