Latest Updates from Our Project:

Wet palette testing
almost 3 years ago – Sat, May 29, 2021 at 08:59:12 PM

Testing of the wet palettes has gone extremely well. We tested Vallejo, Scale 75, Reaper, Monument, Games Workshop, and P3 paints and they all did great. After 28+ hours all of them were perfect and

started to settle a bit due to non usage. No bleeding through the paper at all were ready to go.  We did test some metallic paints from all the ranges just to see what would happen. After 18 hours they started to bleed through the paper a bit and settle. Then it was on to the heavy body acrylics to really put the palette and paper to the test. We used golden brand and weren't disappointed. We went 24 hours with the lid on and the paint was great. It pulled a little moisture and was ready for the brush. We did have some minor bleed through but very acceptable. You can see in the pics below.

We are going to give the manufacturer the thumbs up on the palette, paper, and sponge after very successful testing. We now are moving on to the rest of the Studio X and will post updates as we go.

We have another tutorial to put up but are working on a better way to organize everything for easier access and uploading. Should be all set in a few days. Some of you have asked for us to add on products to your orders. We will be going through each order and contacting everyone before anything ships to ensure your order is correct and shipping info is as well. So far everything looks good with the Studio X except some minor tolerance(expected) issues. We should be wrapped up mid next week with the testing. It looks like our persistence on sourcing quality materials is paying off.

Finally we have samples!
almost 3 years ago – Tue, May 25, 2021 at 12:54:42 AM

Our package was delayed once again last week and finally arrived just a few hours ago. At first glance everything looks good but we need to be extremely through and will spend the next week going over everything. This sample includes upgrades for the wet palette's, sponge, door locks, center uprights, and handle. The only parts we did not receive are the seals on the wet palettes and silicone rubber insert for the brush holder. These need molds to make and wont be made until we are 100% on the unit. The same with the paper and sponge stamp, so we need to hand cut to fit for now. Fingers crossed we are back on track and minor adjustments only. We will start using the wet palettes/paper/sponges tonight and keep going for a week. lots of updates coming up.

The tutorial from our friends at Chestnut Ink will be available on Wednesday. I will post an update as well with links.

Thanks

Moving forward
almost 3 years ago – Tue, May 18, 2021 at 02:16:12 AM

Our 1st Studio X production sample is due to arrive this week Thursday/Friday. Over the last three months we've been in constant contact with the engineers and manufacture so we are expecting very minor adjustments like tolerances, edge finishes, and clearances that can easily be adjusted without delays. We will take a few days going over the sample and put out another update next weekend with pictures. If all is good but minor adjustments mentioned above an email or two with pictures and a zoom meeting will get us into production mode. Without any more delays we are hoping for mid August arrival of product to us and late August for shipping to our backers and distribution hubs for international orders. After the last three to four months of delays and issues things seem to be picking up a bit (fingers crossed).

We are currently working on international distribution for our products and fulfillment for all of our international backers. Before sending any orders out we will contact each backer to make sure your order is 100% so please let us know of any changes to your email or contact information. We've had quite a few backers contact us about adding on some of our new products to the kickstarter shipment. We will have roughly a two week period of organization and sorting once the shipment arrives to contact us and let us know if you want something added in to your pledge (our products only).

On the videos and tutorials we have a finished tutorial from our friends at Chestnut Ink on using resin for ice, snow and water effects in your bases and dioramas that we will be releasing on Wednesday this week. I will post an update here with a link.

We've signed up as vendors for Dragonfall charity festival 2021, Reapercon 2021, and Adepticon 2022 and it seems like conventions are starting to come back on track (again fingers crossed). We look forward to seeing everyone again and if you will be attending any of these events please stop by and say hello. Thanks again to all of you for being patient and understanding.

Thank you

Some progress
almost 3 years ago – Sat, Apr 24, 2021 at 05:32:35 PM

We are still sorting the international shipping but have started to receive some of the add-on products here. Last week the models from Ouroboros miniatures came in and today the shipment of books from Dave Taylor miniatures arrived. The Monument paints and accessories, Gave Envy paint handles and Badger primers will come in over the next 2 to 3 weeks.

Our 1st sample is still sitting in New York according to the tracking info. We have reached out to the shipping company and were told it hasn't been released yet for delivery.  We do have the sample pic sent to us 4ish weeks ago before it was sent, showing the upgraded locks, wet palettes,  and the beefed up side supports. This is a 1st sample so it's to check measurements, tolerances, functionality and durability. It is done in white so we can easily mark any areas that need adjustment and send photos.

Anyone who just ordered add-ons in the United States we will send out asap. Anyone who ordered just add-ons internationally please send us an email at [email protected] we will do our best to find a way to get your package to you if you don't wish to wait for distribution but any additional costs will be added.

The videos and tutorials are still in progress. We have 3 videos up on our you tube channel. Two from James Craig and one from Don Suratos with a couple more to add in the next 2 to 3 weeks. Also PDF tutorials from Erik Swinson and Chestnut Ink with links below.

Some of you asked about a few of our other products we currently have available. Please send us a message separate from kickstarter (email or Facebook) so we can keep everything sorted.

Thank you again to everyone for being patient. It's been rough on our end having to deal with all the delays, shipping and changing circumstances. Quality product to your door and backers who are happy they joined the project are very important to us.

Some changes to shipping
about 3 years ago – Fri, Apr 09, 2021 at 08:10:55 AM

We have been working on the shipping issues and have decided to bring all the Studio X products and add-on's directly to us.  This will avoid sending multiple shipments of our products and add-on products to other locations and possible delays, lost shipments or incorrect orders being processed.

We are currently working with fed ex, ups, and dhl to get reasonable rates and service.  It's a big change on our end and a lot more work but will help speed things up and we can contact each backer before their pledge goes out to make sure its 100%.

The 1st sample was due to arrive late last week and is still sitting in New York awaiting release.

The new shipping process will take us a bit to completely organize but we are on it and will update when we have more info.  Some of the add-on's are here already and we are working on getting the rest sent here the next week or two.

Thank You
